Terrazzo restoration Fort Myers is a blog about a job we did in August of 2013. This floor looked bad, but we were able to restore it to a beauty no one ever imagined. Our current system has taken terrazzo restoration to a whole new level. We have done many terrazzo restorations in Fort Myers, but none ever looked better than this one. Of late every floor we have done has had very high gloss meter readings. The gloss meter gives us a true reading, without personal opinions. We have been getting many, many readings in the eighties and some in the nineties. These readings are much higher than anything we could produce in the past. Though we might get an eighty, it was uncommon. We can now use this system, with some modification, on every terrazzo floor. Whether it is a terrazzo restoration in Fort Myers, Sarasota, Venice, or Naples, we can make your terrazzo floor look outstanding. On this floor we started out with a metal bond, very aggressive and worked our way up to three thousand grit diamonds. We did not use any polishing powders, or crystallizers. The sealer we use is a penetrating sealer for stone that goes into the floor. We put down two applications of impregnating sealer, but no topical sealer is used. This means the shine you see on your floor is the floor shining, not the illusion of a shiny floor. Lets face it, finishes and topical sealers are designed to make your floor look shiny. Diamond polishing makes your floor shiny on its own. No topical coating will be as durable as the floor itself will be. Diamond polished terrazzo will last eight to ten years, under normal use, before it needs polished again. After that time you will only need polishing and not grinding and honing.
